We Want You @ City Fest!
Shifts are only two hours, but we will welcome anyone who wants to work multiple shifts! The task is simple...talk about Detroit Synergy, who we are, what we do, and how people can get involved. The only suggested previous experience needed is having been to a Detroit Synergy event! All volunteers are eligible to fill out a survey and be entered into a drawing for great prizes—among them, a night's stay at the fab new Hotel St. Regis! Dates: Wednesday, July 2nd to Sunday, July 6th
Times: Wed to Sat - 11:30am to 11:00pm; Sun - 11:00am to 8:00pm | volunteers will be needed in two hour blocks

Pecha Kucha Night Comes to Detroit: Call for Entries
Pecha Kucha (which is Japanese for the sound of conversation) has tapped into a demand for a forum in which creative work can be easily and informally shown, without having to rent a gallery or chat up a magazine editor. This is a demand that seems to be global – as Pecha Kucha Night, without any pushing, has spread virally to over 120 cities across the world. Find a location and join the conversation.
The Call for Entries is on the streets! Submissions are due Friday, July 11th!
Submission Requirements:
- Brief description of your work (300 words or less)
- Three images of your work up to 3 megabytes (1000 kb per image)

Leadership Opportunities 2008 - We want YOU!!
So you've been hanging out with us for a little while now. You've worked on and participated in a project or two...or more. You're realizing you have some mad skills that would be best utilized in a volunteer setting. And before you know it, you are asking yourself, "How else can I contribute to this great organization?!" Ongoing Projects and Events

Third Thursdays are a great opportunity to connect with members of the Detroit Synergy community. Whether you are new to the organization, or well-traveled on the Synergy circuit, you will feel welcome at this community networking event. Bus to Work Campaign: A Transit Project Want to help strengthen mass transit in metro Detroit? Is there a bus stop near your workplace? Sign-up to post an educational flier at your workplace that describes the local routes and the personal cost savings. Discussing Differences is a collaboration between Detroit Synergy and The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion (MRDI) to help Metro Detroiters break down racial and social barriers by using MRDI’s 'Trading Places' dialogue series. Interested participants can email the project leads at discussingdifferences@detroitsynergy.org
Pecha Kucha Night - Pecha Kucha is a presentation format in which a presenter has 20 slides, and can only spend 20 seconds on each slide. Started in Tokyo, there are now "Pecha Kucha Nights" all around the world. Help us start one in Detroit! For more info, contact the PKN Committee at pechakucha@detroitsynergy.org

We are an all volunteer organization of Detroit and metro-area residents who share a vision for Detroit and believe there are thousands of people who, if given the opportunity, would bring their vision of a Detroit alive and awaken the potential of one of the world's most misunderstood metropolises.

DSG is powered by member-driven projects and initiatives. Our projects strive to inject positive energy into the city and seek to drive the creation of a stronger community for the future. Our scope is broad enough to include all of the diverse ideas that make up a strong, vibrant and cosmopolitan city.
