August Supper Club at Le Petit Zinc - SOLD OUT!
Owner Charles Sorel was born in Martinique, raised in Paris, and has lived in New York and Brazil. Charles and his family recently relocated to Detroit and were excited to open a French café in a city in the midst of a true renaissance. Le Petit Zinc offers classic French cuisine in a distinctly unique setting—a charming and wholly childlike atmosphere in a sunny palette of colors, decorated with cute (and some antique) knick-knacks with eclectic accents—such as empty wine bottles used as water pitchers.
August’s Supper Club will be held on Wednesday, August 26th at 7:00PM on the outdoor patio of Le Petit Zinc, a true urban oasis of plants and flowers surrounded by somewhat less romantic parking lots and barbed wire fences.
Because of extremely limited capacity, this will be a very non-traditional Supper Club event. A strict 15-person limit will be enforced. You MUST RSVP in advance. No last-minute add-ons, walk-ins, or exceptions will be made. There is also no prix fixe menu. Because all items are made fresh to order, Le Petit Zinc is offering members of Supper Club full command over their beautifully simple Francophile menu—order as much or as little as you like, and be billed individually upon consumption. Items average $4.00-$8.00 each; expect an average check per person after tax and tip to be about $20.00.
Choose from delectable sweet and savory crepes, homemade ratatouille (a hearty stew popular in France), bountiful salads artful in their simplicity, café-style sandwiches on crusty baguette bread, and a variety of tasting plates to share! This is a very traditional Parisian café with traditional café food; all that’s missing is a lovely view of the Eiffel Tower!
Please note that Le Petit Zinc does not have a liquor license. A wide variety of non-alcoholic beverages are available, including robust espresso and bottled Coca-Cola from Mexico (which uses real sugarcane in their sodas). Please do not attempt to bring your own wine; this is against the laws dictated by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission and you will be asked to remove it from the premises.
Payment will not be accepted in advance; you are responsible for supplying payment for your own bill and gratuity while at the restaurant. We will be meeting at the restaurant at 7:00PM sharp; early/late arrivals may have to wait or may not be able to sit with the group.
DUE TO EXTREMELY LIMITED CAPACITY, THERE WILL BE A VERY STRICT LIMIT OF ONLY 15 RSVPS ACCEPTED. YOU MUST EMAIL ME TO RSVP. Due to capacity issues, absolutely no walk-ins allowed. Email supperclub@detroitsynergy.org with any questions. Please pass this information on to your friends, family, and coworkers, and anyone else interested in Detroit dining!
